Los Angeles native Alyse Wax is the daughter of a writer. So naturally, she rebelled and wanted nothing to do with the craft. Alyse spent a number of years as a television producer, working on shows like Big Brother, Hell’s Kitchen, Penn & Teller: Off the Deep End and Punkin’ Chunkin’ 2008. Eventually, however, she grew up and realized that following in her mother’s footsteps is not the worst thing in the world.
A chance meeting led to a job at FEARnet.com, a top horror website and cable network. Alyse worked there for nearly seven years as a reporter and television critic, eventually becoming Associate Editor, before Kabletown shut down the popular site. Continuing with her passion for the horror and sci-fi genre, she is a regular contributor to SYFY WIRE, Collider.com, ComingSoon.net, and Bloody-Disgusting.com. She was briefly the editor-in-chief of DreadCentral.com, and has written for CraveOnline.com, Mashable.com, IndieWire.com, Fangoria Magazine, ShockTillYouDrop.com, SuperHeroHype.com, DailyDead.com, and Deadly Magazine. Her work has also appeared in Teen People Magazine, Weekly World News, Zap2It.com, and USA Network’s CharacterBlog.com.
A USC Film School graduate and former figure skater, Alyse lives in LA with a house full of boys: her husband and three dogs.
